Better, but…

Roughly 3 years ago (late April, 2010) I wrote a Rant entitled ‘A Letter to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary’ where I got all hissy about the fact that the transcripts of the invited experts to the Hearing on Achieving the Promise of the Americans with Disabilities Act in the Digital Age were posted in inaccessible PDF files: big giant pictures (the most evil of PDFs)!

Words With Dignity

Often, web developers and others responsible for producing accessible web content are at a loss to describe the various forms of disability their users may be dealing with. While we always want to avoid labeling any person by their specific disability, we must also recognize the various disabilities people deal with on a daily basis. Using the correct terms eases discussing the needs of these specific users.
