Adding a New Category – Archive

I have added a new category to the ‘ol blog: Archive. You may find some of this interesting, or useless – no matter. None of it is new, and most of it will be archived material that was either previously posted at or has been kicking around my Hard Drive for a number of years.

With the material, the longer-range plan was to eventually migrate most of the content from that site over to here, and gracefully but finally retire that site using an HTTP Error 301 code (Moved Permanently. The resource has permanently moved elsewhere, the response indicates where it has gone to.)

Since I will be using an HTTP Error code to deal with the redirects, I thought I would also start out with re-posting one of the higher-trafficked pages from – HTTP Error Codes (and what they mean)
