Santa’s Secret – Johnny Guarnieri With Slam Stewart
Santa has a little secret… And Johnny Guarnieri wants to fill us in… I won’t divulge any information here. You’ll just have to listen and hear for yourself. Let’s just say that Santa’s “sack” isn’t just filled with toys… (NSFW)
Johnny Guarnieri was an American jazz and stride pianist, perhaps best known for his big band stints with Benny Goodman in 1939 and with Artie Shaw in 1940. He also led a trio in the 1940s composed of himself, Slam Stewart and Sammy Weiss, from which this little Christmas novelty tune emerged. This track actually shows up on a few Christmas compilations, including the Savoy Jazz Christmas Album: Christmas Blues, from which this is taken.
