Must Be Santa – Brave Combo

This one is just pure kitsch. Denton, Texas based Brave Combo‘s musical style takes a healthy dollop of salsa, meringue, rock, cumbia, conjunto, polka, zydeco, classical, cha cha, and the blues, dumps it all into a musical blender and let’s fly. “America’s Premier Dance band”, the group has recorded with the late Tiny Tim, and were the band Talking Head’s David Byrne chose for his wedding reception.
The song, first released in November 1960 by Mitch Miller, is taken from the 1995 Rounder Record “Must Be Santa! – The Rounder Christmas Album” and is 2 1/2 minutes of pure polka Christmas merriment.
Want to have some fun? Give a bunch of young kids some chocolate and soda-pop, turn this up loud, and get them to start dancing – even you’ll start bouncing around.
